What is ISO 14001?
ISO 14001 requires an environmental management system (EMS): identifying significant environmental aspects, meeting compliance obligations, setting objectives, operational control, emergency preparedness, performance evaluation and improvement — with a life-cycle perspective.

The certification process
- Quote — we define the audit scope (employees, sites, processes) and send an individual quote.
- Stage 1 audit — review of your documented system and readiness for the on-site audit.
- Stage 2 audit — on-site audit of how the system works in practice.
- Certification decision — the accredited certificate is issued for a three-year cycle.
- Surveillance and recertification — surveillance audits at 12 and 24 months, recertification before month 36.
ISO 14001:2026 was published in April 2026. Organisations certified to ISO 14001:2015 must complete their transition by 30 April 2029.
